Ring Group Does Not Ring One or Some ALICE Clients
This article troubleshoots when some ALICE Clients in a ring group do not receive incoming call notifications, but others do.
Verify the ALICE Client's Ring Group Setting is Enabled
- Open the Settings on the ALICE Client software.
- In the General section, check the “Ring Group Member” box.
- Click Save.
- Perform a test call to verify the calls are being received.
The ALICE Client Can't Communicate with the Communication Server
- Open the Settings on the ALICE Client software.
- Under the SIP tab, Select Test Connection.
- If you receive the “Test connection successful” message, note your User / Extension number for the next troubleshooting step.
- If you receive a connection failed message, contact your ALICE admin verify that the Proxy/Domain, User/Extension, Password and Auth ID are accurate.
- If these credentials are accurate, check with your network administrator that the network access rules needed for the ALICE Client are applied to your Windows user and PC.
SIP Extensions Being Shared
SIP Extensions configured in the ALICE Directory and ALICE Client should always be unique. Never share SIP extensions between installations.
- Log into the ALICE Portal as an ALICE Client Administrator.
- Under Directory Management, select Directories.
- Select the Employee tab and use the Search field to search for the SIP Extension.
- If any other employees are using this extension, they should be reconfigured to use separate extensions. Contact your ALICE Administrator to identify an unused extension.
- Remove or replace any duplicate SIP extensions.
- If necessary, reconfigure the ALICE Client with new settings then test a call.
