Brother QL-810W Badge Printer Installation and Configuration Guide
This guide will walk through the setup and configuration of the Brother QL-810W Label Writer for visitor badge printing.
Hardware Set Up
1. Plug the Brother QL-810W Printer into a power source, then connect the USB cable to the ALICE Kiosk PC's USB 3.0 port.
2. Open the tray on top of the Badge Printer and install the Brother 2.4" Labels (Product Number DK2251)
Badge Printer Software and Driver downloads
Download the following printer software from our DropBox folder. These specific versions are required for ALICE Receptionist to print visitor badges.
The software downloads linked include:
- B-Pac 3 SDK (bsdkw33001_64eu.exe)
- P-touch Drivers (bsq16aw140aus_ptouch.exe)
- Printer Settings Tool (stw16007a tool.exe)
Printer Software Installation and Configuration
- Power on the Printer.
- Run B-Pac 3 SDK (bsdkw33001_64eu.exe) and follow the installation prompts until finished.
- Run the P-Touch Driver Installer (bsq16aw140aus_ptouch.exe).
- Select QL-810W from the printer list and click OK.
- Select Local Connection (USB) and follow the installation process and select Finish.
- Install the Printer Setting Tool (stw16007a tool.exe) and follow the installation process until complete.
- Restart the PC.
- Run the Printer Setting Tool.
- Select Device Setting
- Select QL-810W from the drop-down box
- Verify "Disable these settings" is left unchecked.
- Set "Auto Power On" to On
- Set "Auto Power Off (AC/DC)" to None
- Set "Auto Power Off (Li-ion)" to None
- Select Apply
- Open Printers & Scanners in Windows.
- Right click on Brother QL-810W
- Select "Printing Preferences"
- Set to Paper Size to 2.4”
- Set Length to Size 3.99”
- Select the Advance tab and set the Color to 2-Color (Black/Red)
- Click OK to save your settings.
ALICE Configuration
- Log Into the ALICE Portal as an ALICE User or ALICE Administrator
- Navigate to the Visitor Management's Check-in Settings section, and select the General tab
- Set the "Printer" to Brother QL-810W
- Toggle Print Badge to ON.
- Select Save.
- Launch the ALICE Directory.
- Perform a test check-in. Once the check-in is complete, the visitor badge will print.
