ALICE Client – SIP Tab
This article walks through the ALICE Client Configuration's SIP tab.
The SIP Settings tab is where communication information for the ALICE Client will be configured. Each ALICE Client's SIP credentials must be unique. The ALICE Client and ALICE Directory will be adversely affected if users attempt to share SIP account information.
Contact your ALICE administrator for your unique SIP credentials.
Required Fields
- Proxy/Domain Server – Enter the IP or URL address of the communication server this ALICE Client will connect to.
- User/Extension–Enter the unique extension number this ALICE Client will use to connect to the communication server.
- Password – Enter the user or extension password this ALICE Client will use when connecting to the communications server.
- Auth Id – Enter the Authorization ID this ALICE Client will use when connecting to the communications server.
Optional Fields
- Transport Protocol –The default transport protocol is “UDP.” Only change this setting if your network administrator instructs you to use another protocol for VoIP traffic.

Forward / FollowMe# – The phone number that will be called if the ALICE Client status is set to Forward or Follow Me.
- Proxy Server – Specify the IP or URL address of the proxy server if your network uses a proxy server.

Proxy Port – Specify the proxy port if your network uses a proxy server.

Proxy User – Enter the username required if your network uses a proxy server.

Proxy Password – Enter the password required if your network uses a proxy server.
Test Communications
The Test Connection button tests the entered SIP settings.
The message window displays the results when the Test Connection button is pressed. The user will be notified of the test’s success or failure below the message window.
If the test fails, the new settings won't be saved.
Updating SIP Account Settings
When a change is made in the SIP Settings tab, the ALICE Client must restart to finalize the update.
