ALICE Client – Video Tab

This article reviews the Video tab and how to select a webcam and set the video quality.

The Video tab contains the device settings the ALICE Client will use for video communications.

Video Tab

A video device from this list, typically a webcam, must be selected to use two-way video communications with the ALICE Client software.

A video device is not required if only one-way video communications will be used.

  • Video Device – Select the web camera device listed.

If the device does not appear on the drop-down list, verify that Windows recognizes the web camera. If the device was connected after the ALICE Client launched, restart the ALICE Client.

  • Video Quality – Select the quality between High, Standard, and Low. If you experience choppy video, lower the quality. Networks with lower bandwidth should utilize lower-quality settings.

  • Video Codecs – Choose the video codecs supported by the communication server or “Select All” to authorize all available codecs. ALICE will automatically choose an option to connect.
