On-site Electrical, Network, and Environmental Requirements
The article includes requirements and recommendations for your building to ensure the best ALICE Receptionist experience and to help maintain the health of the ALICE kiosk hardware.
Network Bandwidth
The kiosk running the ARD and the employee PCs with ARCs installed will need the following network bandwidth capabilities.
Required
- Audio-Only Calls: 400kbps
- Two-Way Video: 600kbps
Electrical and Wiring
The ALICE Receptionist system needs to have the following connections available.
Required
- Two active 120V power outlets.
- One active Cat 5 or Cat 6 connection with access to the internet.
Recommended
We highly recommend that customers purchase a quality surge protector to protect the ALICE Hardware from electrical surges that could damage the hardware.
Environmental
The location for installing the ALICE system in your building must meet the following environmental requirements. The ALICE hardware is not weatherproof or resistant. It must be located inside an environmentally controlled building with air conditioning and heating to ensure the equipment is not exposed to extreme temperatures or weather.
Required
- Temperature: Between 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 95°F)
- Mid to High-Level Lighting (Low-level lighting may result in distorted video call quality)
- Humidity: 20 to 80%
