Freetouch Software Installation and Configuration

This article walks through the installation and configuration process for the Freetouch Software for a Touchless Visitor Experience.

  1. Complete the free trial registration form. 
    • Type "ALICE Receptionist trial" in the Comments field of the form.
  2. After completing all necessary fields, press the "Get the Goods!" button to download the files.  
    • If you are unable to download the software, email support@freetou.ch to get the download.
    • Only use this installer on the ALICE Kiosk PC which the license will be assigned.
  3. Purchase the license using this link:  https://freetou.ch/purchase/ 
  4. Install the Freetouch software on the ALICE Directory machine.

  5. On the Windows task, bar click the Hide taskbar arrow icon and look for the FreeTouch finger print icon.

  6. Right-click on the FreeTouch fingerprint icon to show the menu.

  7. Click on the Configure FreeTouch menu option to load the configuration menu.

  8. Once the Freetouch Control Panel is open, under the "General" tab enable these settings:

    • Enable Mouse Input

    • Enable Touch Input

  9. Under the QR Code section, configure these settings:

    • Offset from Corner: Lower Left
    • x Offset (pixels): 10
    • y Offset (pixels): 10
    • Dimension (pixels square): 150
    • Rotation (Degrees): 0

  10. Under Keyboard, enable and select these settings:
    • Enable Letters
    • Enable Numbers
    • Enable Symbols
    • Enable Directional
    • Character Sets: Upper & Lowercase
    • Show Spacebar
    • Show Return Key

  11. Click the Save & Restart button to save your changes and display the Freetouch QR Code.

  12. Restart the ALICE Receptionist Directory software.

Once the ARD has been restarted, the Freetouch QR code will display in the bottom left hand corner of the ALICE screen.
 

Guest who want to interact with ALICE without touching the screen can now use their phone to scan the QR code and then user their smart phone to control the mouse and open a keyboard on their phone which can be used for keyboard input.

Once the guest closes the app control on their phone, the session will end. If the user leaves the session open, it will be terminate when the next person scans the QR code or if someone touches the ALICE screen.
