Installing and Configuring Door Access

This article explains the installation and configuration for door access integration.

  1. On the ALICE Receptionist kiosk's PC, download and run the ALICE Receptionist Door Access Install executable.
  2. Input the port that will be used to communicate between the door relay access service and the employee PCs. The default port value is 9090 and will work in most instances.

  3. When finished with the installation, create an inbound rule and outbound rule in Windows Firewall for TCP port 9090 or the custom port entered during the installation.
  4. Open Windows Services on the ALICE Directory kiosk PC. Verify that the ALICE Door Access service is running and set to start automatically.
  5. In the ALICE Configuration portal, navigate to Account Management>Global Settings>Sync Integration>Alice Door Access.
  6. Under "Door Access Location," select the location.
  7. Click on Add New Server Address

  8. In the pop-up window, enter the IP address of the ALICE Receptionist kiosk's PC, followed by the port indicated during the installation.

For example, if the IP address for the ALICE Receptionist PC is 172.18.1.105 and you used the default port 9090, you would enter the server address as 172.18.1.105:9090.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Select the new door access server address you just created.
  11. Under "Door Controllers," click Add New Controller.
  12. In the pop-up window, add the name and the IP address for the Moxa device.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Under the "Doors" section, click on Add New Door.

  15. In the pop-up window, name the new door and choose a relay number (0-5) depending on the number of doors connected.
  16. Set the "Relay Type" to "Wet" and use the following settings for each door:
    • Trigger Delay = 0
    • Open Time = 5
  17. Click Save, then repeat the process for additional doors based on the number of doors purchased with your license.
  18. For any employees for whom you'd like to provide door access control, enroll them to use the ALICE Mobile App.
  19. Have each employee activate their mobile app account.
  20. On the Employee PCs, launch the ALICE Client application.
  21. Click Settings, then select the Door Access tab.
  22. Using the credentials from the ALICE Mobile App username and password you created above, enter the information and click on Login.
  23. Once logged in, click on Save to save the credentials.
  24. If communication between the Employee's PC and the door access relay is successful, you'll see the door(s) in the tab with the lock icon on the ALICE Client's navigation bar. If the tab isn't visible after configuration, restart the ALICE Client software.
