How to Replace the ELO CMOS Battery
This article provides a step-by-step guide on replacing the CMOS battery in an ELO computer module.
Hardware Requirements
- CMOS Battery: CR2032
- Phillips head screwdriver
Use appropriate measures to ground yourself before touching the CMOS Battery or any internal computer components.
CMOS Battery Replacement Steps
To access the computer module in a Floorstanding kiosk, the monitor must be removed from the kiosk base. Contact an ALICE Support representative for further instructions.
- Shut down the PC and unplug all cords connected to the module, including its power cord.
- Unscrew securing thumb bolts.
- Use the handle to slide the computer module out.
- Place the module so that the Windows License and Elo stickers are face up
- Remove all of the pictured screws below.
- Remove these screws connected to the hard drive plate cover.
- Lift the hard drive cover plate.
- Slide the hard drive cover plate out.
- Flip the hard drive cover plate over.
- Remove the module cover plate.
- Locate the CMOS Battery.
- Remove the CMOS Battery.
- Push the securing clip inward and the battery will pop up.
- Remove the CMOS battery.
- Place the new CMOS battery into the socket.
- Follow the process in reverse to re-assemble the module.
