Olea Kiosk Handset Wiring and Configuration Instructions
This guide reviews the wiring and Windows settings of Olea Kiosks with Handsets.
The expected behavior for a system equipped with a handset is the following:
- The audio output will play over the speakerphone when the handset is cradled.
- The audio output will play through the handset speaker when the handset is picked up off the cradle.
- The handset's audio input (mic) is the only active microphone on the kiosk.
Kiosk Wiring Guide
- The first splitter cable (highlighted in Yellow) plugs into the speakerphone.
- The second splitter cable (highlighted in Red) plugs into the headset end of the first splitter cable.
- The yellow and white cable (highlighted in Teal) plugs into the handset plugs using the second splitter cable.
- The black cable from the speaker amp (highlighted in Green) plugs into the handset plugs using the second splitter cable.

- Connect the black and red wire to the microphone out on the PC (this port is typically colored pink).

Windows Audio Settings
- Navigate to the Windows sound settings.
- Navigate to the Playback tab.
- Disable all playback devices except for speakerphone.
- Set the speakerphone to the default device.

- Navigate to the Recording tab.
- Disable all devices except for the Microphone device from the handset.
- Set the device as the Default device.
ALICE Directory Audio Settings
- Launch the ALICE Configuration.
- Set the following Audio settings:
- Audio Input Devices: Microphone
- Audio Output Devices: Speakerphone
