"ALICE" Caller ID from the ALICE Kiosk
This article troubleshoots Caller ID issues that prevent phones from receiving the "ALICE" Caller ID.
All calls from the ALICE cloud communication server include the following Caller ID information:
- Caller ID numerical setting: 702-284-7333
- Caller ID text string: ALICE
This article troubleshoots why this Caller ID may not appear on your phone system.
Although the ALICE SIP Server sends the above described Caller ID and CNAM information with each call, this is not a guarantee that your phones will display this information.
Troubleshooting with Your Telephone Company
Open a case with your telephony provider.
They will need to verify the CLID text string on inbound calls is being passed on. Their CNAM should show "ALICE" for 702-284-7333 in their database. If they discover the CNAM information is not "ALICE," you will need to inform them that their entry is outdated and that they will need to update it.
The correct CNAM for 702-284-7333 is "ALICE".
Troubleshooting your Telephony System
If the telephone company is properly sending the Caller ID, check the following with your communications admin team:
- What Caller ID data is your PBX receiving from your TELCO?
- Verify your voice gateway (which handles the interface to the PRI) has the proper settings enabled for receiving Caller ID text strings.
- Verify your PBX can digest a Caller ID text string.
- Verify that your PBX is configured to pass any Caller ID Text String to the phones.
Assigning a Name to ALICE's Number
If the above actions do not resolve the issue, another option is to assign the display name "ALICE" to inbound calls from 702-284-7333 on your phone system or the individual employee's mobile phones.
