FILE FORMAT

The two key requirements for images that are uploaded to the Photo Gallery Widget are:

  1. The images must be in a JPG formatted file.
  2. The images can not be of high resolution or high quality.
  3. Image sizes must be 2MG or smaller

CONVERT JPG FILE TO CORRECT IMAGE QUALITY

The most common issue when uploading an image to the Photo Gallery is that the image quality is too high. This can be resolved by saving the image as a low-quality image. In almost all cases, a low-quality image looks good on the ALICE Screen. A low-quality image would not be a good option for printing or zooming in on the image. The ALICE system will not be doing either of these functions.

Below are two option for how to save an image as a low quality image if your are having difficulting uploading your image into the Widget Photo Gallery:

OPTION 1: ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

If you are editing your image in Adobe Photoshop, Export the file with an Image Quality setting of 4 or lower:

  1. Go to File -> Export -> Export As
    1. Set the Quality value = 4
  2. Click Export

OPTION 2: Windows Snip & Sketch Application

You can also convert the image to a low-quality image using the Windows Snip & Sketch application.

  1. Open File Explorer in Windows.
  2. Locate the image you want to upload to the Photo Gallery
  3. Right Click on the image file and choose Open With
  4. Choose Snip & Sketch
  5. Once the image has been loaded with the Snip & Sketch application, Save it as a JPG file.

This will save the image as a low-quality image by default.

UPLOAD THE IMAGE

Once you have saved the image as a low-quality image, you will be able to upload it to the Photo Gallery Widget.
