Testing the ALICE Directory's SIP Communications

This article provides steps on how to test the ALICE Directory's SIP communications. 

  1. On the ALICE Kiosk PC, close the ALICE DIrectory. 
  2. Open the ALICE Configuration tool.
  3. Select the Communications section. 
  4. In the "Communications Test" section, select the Test Connection button.
  5. The test will begin and start reporting its progress. The final results will be under the diagnostic window.

  6. If Test Succesful appears, the SIP Communications are working.
  7. If the test is unsuccessful, verify the following fields are accurate:

    • Server (IP or URL): This should be the URL of the communications server. 

    • Extension / User: This should be the extension number of the ALICE system. 

    • Password: This should be the password to the Extension.

    • Auth ID: This should be the Authorization ID for the extension.
  8. If the test is still unsuccessful, contact your network administration team to verify that the required network rules are in place. There are separate rules for Cloud or Local communications.
